Year 9, 10 & 11 Basketball

Over the last 3 weeks we have witnessed some fantastic basketball tournaments in the sports hall. In particular, the year 9 competition was extremely close and was ultimately won on goal difference by Ellis. As you can see from the results below, all houses were well represented and I'd especially like to thank Billy Blythe, Billy Houghton, Charlie Houghton, Ben Johnston, Ben Sheehan, George Pemberton and Josh Billing for their help throughout the tournaments.

Year 7 House Basketball

Due to inclement weather, the year 7 house hockey was postponed. The Basketball did go ahead though and what a competition were were treated to! Congratulations to Rawdon house who narrowly won the tournament.

Year 8 Hockey and Basketball

Year 11 Football

Congratulations to EL on their winning performance in the Year 11 House Football Competition. However a special mention must be made for BA's outstanding performance. Finishing in last place in previous years, BA navigated their way to the final to finish as worthy runners-up. One Barclay player was overheard saying that it had felt like 'they'd won the World Cup'. Brilliant stuff!

Year 10 Football



Congratulations to CA who beat the tournament favourites (RA) in a tense final. Managed by Seb Randazzo, CA's game plan worked perfectly as they soaked up the relentless pressure from RA and performed the perfect 'smash and grab' by sealing the win with a last minute counter-attack (dispatched with aplomb by Lewis Hunt). Apologies for the lack of photos due to to the torrential downpour that lunchtime (special thanks to the House Captains who stayed out in the rain)!

On Wednesday 9th October the year 7s were introduced to their first House competition (aside from the Cross-Country that they run in PE lessons). Competition was fierce but eventually it was Barclay and Ellis who prevailed in the football and netball tournaments respectively. 'Well done' to all those who took part.
